A boat on the Danube, the perfect setting for the 2006 EYM.
22 Delegates from 13 countries made up the group with 4 attending for the first time. Joining us was Ivana Losa from the CYE. There were a number of lectures including one from Ivana but the highlight had to be Sannas Sport and Physical Exercise for people with IBD as its conclussion was a football match on Margaret Island. If the group was not working completely together before, the match certainly cemented team spirit and new friendships. The Youth Group is moving forward with many projects. Everyone was told how they must participate in at least one project throughout the year with the idea of holding fewer lectures and more workshops during the EYM in 2007. To encourage more countries to host future meetings a "Loekie for Rookie" guide has been produced to help them. The title says it all " A guide to our activities, background, history and....dreams."
The Youth Group from UK won the "Loekie Award" this year with an
excellent poster. The charming plate with Loekie in Hungarian National
Costume was presented at the Gala Dinner.Celebrity guests at the Dinner were Rod Mitchell (EFCCA Chairman), Arjan Kremer (EFCCA Treasurer) and Micke Lindhyolm (EFCCA Secretary). Our thanks must go to the Hungarian Association for hosting an excellent meeting. Next year Austria has agreed to hold the EYM in Gratz. Everyone is already counting the days.
